Live from Nice - Our Citizen Science Project is now officially part of the UN Ocean Decade

Our team is currently participating in the One Ocean Science Congress in Nice – a major international gathering ahead of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference. We are proud to present our Citizen Science project there, which actively involves people in hands-on ocean research.

Today, with perfect timing, we received fantastic news: our project has been officially endorsed as a contribution to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development! This recognition highlights not only the relevance of our work, but also its impact on a global scale.

The German Ocean Foundation is proud to now have eleven officially endorsed Decade projects under the umbrella of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). This milestone reflects our strong and ongoing commitment to a sustainable ocean future – from knowledge to action.
