The first team returns from a successful research trip

After a week of research, Teresa Hauser, Melissa Horras, and Theresa Unz from the South Württemberg Student Research Centre are back in port. On board the ALDEBARAN, they investigated PFAS—also known as “forever chemicals”—in seagrass beds and brown algae in the Baltic Sea. The water, plant, and sediment samples they collected are on their way to the laboratory for further analysis. Next up is the team from the Louisenlund Foundation and the Holstein Mitte private school, which will be looking at the topic of “Wrecks as time bombs? Investigation of pollutant emissions and their impact on the Baltic Sea”.
